LACSOP definition of civil society
LACSOP definition of civil society is broad. It includes non-government organizations, associational groups, trade unions, voluntary bodies, faith-based organizations (FBOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), charities, coalitions and networks, students, protest and social movements.
Our membership is open to any and all of these bodies.
Platinum Members
- Reached full and up to date national regulatory compliance (CAC, SCUML and FIRS).
- Has taken the course and signed the LACSOP Code of Conduct Declaration Form
- Has obtained 100% of Civil Society Onboarding, Knowledge and Skills Development Course evidenced by relevant certificates. Click this link to see all on boarding courses
- Has concluded a minimum of two or more verified self-sustaining projects or caused verifiable change in a particular sector or community in Lagos State
- Have available standard organization policies such as Safeguarding, Finance, (including Audited Account), Gender and Social Inclusion policies in place
- Attained 100% in registering and transparently uploading their activities on LACSOP’s Lagos Civil Society Activism Portal
- Must have in place a strategic plan for organizational building and their operational activities.
- Must be up to date in dues
Golden Members
- Attained national regulatory compliance (CAC, SCUML and FIRS
- Has taken the course and signed the LACSOP Code of Conduct Declaration Form

Silver Members
- Attained national regulatory compliance (CAC and FIRS). Varied stages of application accepted
- Has taken the course and signed the LACSOP Code of Conduct Declaration Form
- Has obtained 70% of Civil Society Onboarding, Knowledge and Skills Development Course evidenced by relevant certificates. Click this link to see all on boarding courses
- Have an Audited Account or balance sheet in place. Must have done/attempted to do some Audited Account and filing
- Attained 60% in registering and transparently uploading their activities on LACSOP’s Lagos Civil Society Activism Portal
- Must have strong commitment for Partnership/Collaboration with others.
- Must be up to date in dues
Bronze Members
- Has taken the course and signed the LACSOP Code of Conduct Declaration Form
- Has obtained 50% of Civil Society Onboarding, Knowledge and Skills Development Course evidenced by relevant certificates. Click this link to see all on boarding courses
- Have an Audited Account or balance sheet in place. Must have done/attempted to do some Audited Account and filing
- Attained 20% in registering and transparently uploading their activities on LACSOP’s Lagos Civil Society Activism Portal
- Must be handling some activities even if it is on a voluntary basis.
- Must have strong commitment for Partnership/Collaboration with others
- Demonstrate minimum level of financial, and personal commitment within the Network
- No policy developed or in the process of developing some policies.
