The Lagos State Civil Society Participation for Development (LACSOP) paid a visit to the Lagos State Waste Water Management Office where they met with the General Manager. The visit was aimed at acquainting the organization with the activities of LACSOP and seeking ways for further collaboration and support. In attendance at the meeting which held at the offices of the LSWMO were the Chairman of the Board of LACSOP, an executive member, the governance specialist from LUWASH and other members of the project team.
While making a presentation during the meeting, the Executive Director of LACSOP, Ms. Dede Kadiri, clarified the objectives of the grant stressing the importance of collaboration between all partners in the sector towards achieving the goal of increasing access to safe water and sanitation services in Lagos State.
In his remarks, the General Manager of LSWMO, Engineer Afolabi Adefemi, expressed his appreciation for the visit, pointing out some key areas for collaboration. He stated that one of the reasons why collaboration was necessary was to avoid duplication of effort and waste of resources through synergy.
In response to the request for more support to the organization from LUWASH, Dr. Jurbe Godep, the governance advisor noted that there has been tremendous improvements in the operations of LSWMO and LUWASH was interested in working together to seek more ways of further collaboration.
In closing, the General Manager, Engineer Afolabi Adefemi, pledged his organization’s willingness to collaborate and to support LACSOP in fulfilling the objectives of the grant.
